UPDATE: the sale has been moved back a week so as to give the students more time to get organised
Dear Students,
Dear Students,
As you are
now aware we will be having a second hand sale next week. We thought it would
be good if we typed up all the things we talked about at the beginning of the
week as there was a large amount of information to remember. We will also post
the assessment outline and a scoring rubric and invitation for the sale up here
as well when they are ready.
Here is a brief
outline of what we talked about, as well as some more information to answer so the
questions you had.
- The sale will be on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th of November
- The second hand sale will be one of your assessments for this unit (the others being Townsmen and political communities)
- You, the student are to take charge and collect everything for the sale. Be active; ask friends and family if they have things you can bring in. Have a good look at home for things you can bring in, but make sure to double check with your parents that they are things that your family wants to donate.
- This is not your parent’s, brother’s or your dog’s job! It is yours. Don’t expect anyone to do it for you
- The only thing that your parents need to do is to maybe help out with some ideas and to check what you plan to bring in.
- You can invite your parents to come into the sale, have a look around and maybe buy something. You can also invite your parents, if they have the time, to help out with supervision during the sale (Parents; If you would like to help for short periods of time please email your teacher)
- You will find that you might have to ‘work’ during break time depending if it’s the only time a class can attend the sale
- Other people are welcome to attend
- All money that is raised will go to special end of school event/activity/’thing’
- On Friday before the end of school we will bag up all the remaining items and give them to charity
